Jet lagged, chat show, jet lag, chat show…

In the morning I was groggy, which was not good because Trish was on the phone at 8am - and asking if I could do a chat show today.

‘I feel like shit. Give me an hour and I’ll call you back.’

After a hot shower, I went for a jog to clear my head, and after the run I felt better. A cold shower, and I got dressed, a large coffee drunk after some chocolate, and I was soon saying goodbye to my mum.

On the train I made a point of sitting near a few businessmen, and one started chatting straight away about computers; I soon had two new customers.

I met Trish near the studios, and this would be the daytime “Vanessa Show”. They recognised me at security and sent me through, and to make-up, but the make-up lady just dabbed my forehead and nose.

Waiting, I chatted quietly to Trish about how we’d promote the DVDs, The Sun newspaper just a few days away from being ready.

Time called, and out I walked, an audience of middle-aged women, a loud applause for me, and I sat next to my overweight lady host, the backdrop being the shit-brown Thames River.

‘Welcome, Ricky Roskov, to the show, and we understand that you’re a bit jet-lagged.’

‘Yes, I just got back from a chat-show in New York. I flew in overnight, did the show with Jacqueline Dupont and Jenny Patrick, flew straight back out again, a bit jet-lagged yes.’

‘So the film you made is ready they say…’

‘It’s complete, yes, and we shot it all in just two weeks, all at the one location, a hotel belonging to friends of mine, and I now have a financial interest in the hotel, so it has my name on it; the Roskov Hotel, near Marseilles in the south of France.

‘And you can visit the film set, they left it in place, the sets that they built for the movie. But there’s another Roskov Hotel in Corsica, being built as we speak, but it’s unusual in that celebs are sponsoring rooms.’

‘Sponsoring rooms?’

‘Jacqueline Dupont and Jenny Patrick, L’Oreal and others, they’ll each pay to have a small villa built, and they’ll stay there often, but when they’re not staying … a member of the public can stay in their villas.

‘And it’s a small select hotel, never more than thirty guests at a time, a private beach, horse riding and golf, no drunk Brits on holiday – this is not Magaluf. And we’ll hold a few celebrity weddings there, privacy assured.’

‘You’ve done very well for yourself, starting with the Mercedes car adverts, and now you have your own modelling agency…’

‘Early on … I met with models who all described how badly girls had been treated in the modelling industry, and not just long hours, we’re talking about regular sexual assault and even rape.

‘I was never keen for the twins to enter that world, so we figured we’d learn how to take photographs and do it for ourselves, and we have done – the girls are good photographers now.
